Karl is Travelin' Tonight on a Plane...
On Election Night, I asked friends for suggestions on where one should go for a post-Election vacation. But as our candidate’s race in California still had more than 100,000 ballots left to be counted, it became clear we wouldn't be going anywhere any time soon.
Therefore, I came up with some “Vacation Suggestions” of my own.
People who – in light of the absolute slaughter of Republicans in this Election – need to take a Vacation. Now.
My first suggestion is Karl Rove.
Karl Rove needs to go on a 4-year vacation. As a FOX News "strategist" on Friday night leading into the final weekend, he swore that “momentum was on McCain’s side” and that a win was not only possible, but likely. By Sunday night, Rovie was touting an Obama “Landslide.”
Can’t get much more duplicitous than that.
Rove needs to disappear for a while, the same way Rush Limbaugh needed to drop off the radar after he admitted “carrying the water” for Republicans he didn’t believe in during the last mid-term Election (and oh yeah, that whole Oxycontin thing). Look, Rove was part of the botched final 2 years of George W. Bush’s Presidency, the years that made it increasingly difficult for good Republicans to defend our own President. Rove was reportedly the “architect” of McCain’s great anticipated win. I hope Rove “wins” a one-way ticket to the Bahamas so he can sit on a beach and think about the absolute, outright rejection of the Republicans who lost their way during the past four years. If he can find a new direction for America, then he’s welcomed back. Until then, there’s a beach in the Bahamas beckoning his name.
