All eyes are on the 19th Senate District in California.  Or at least they should be.

Ground zero for the tax debate in California isn't at the Capitol these days.  It's at the Registrar of Voters Offices in Ventura County.

Tony Strickland, you will recall, signed a no-tax pledge during his campaign.  He can be counted on to hold the line on the enormous tax increases proposed by the Governator.  If for some reason things don't go Strickland's way in the remaining ballot counts (which would be hard to believe given the current trends), with a Democrat in that seat then Schwarzenegger would only need one Republican vote in the State Senate to raise taxes. Say it ain't so!
