Hang Up and Drive!
Our friend Jennifer Freedman Smith over at FocusDriven, a new organization established to prevent distracted driving, has shared with us exciting news straight from the Office of U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood:
I wanted to share some exciting news with all of you who have been part of the effort to combat distracted driving. T[his week], Secretary LaHood [traveled] to New York for a full day of press interviews on distracted driving, and [capped] it off as Jon Stewart’s guest on The Daily Show!
We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring our message about distracted driving to The Daily Show’s audience, and hope you can tune in and get the word out to your friends, family and colleagues. The interview [aired last night] at 11PM Eastern and [will air] again on Wednesday night at 8pm Eastern. Of course, I’ll also be sure to send around a link to the video on Wednesday so you can post it on your websites, send it out to your listservs, and email it to your friends.
Thanks for your continued support and hope you can tune in...
Why The Daily Show? I can think of no better demographic than Jon Stewart's audience to deliver this message. After all, our generation is the Texting-Talking-Facebooking Generation. Kudos to Secretary LaHood for stepping out on this sometimes-controversial limb in an attempt to save lives.
We're tuned in. Are you?
