Kramer vs. Kramer

On the Eleventh Day of Healthcare, my Congress gave to me… “Irreconcilable Differences…”

With the Senate Dems celebrating over Christmas the 60 votes they obtained to pass the Healthcare bill, you’d think that nationalized Healthcare was a done deal, right?

Wrong.

The irreconcilable differences that exist between the Senate version of the Healthcare bill and the House version of the bill are so insurmountable, it makes Kramer versus Kramer look like a walk in the park.

The fact is, the Senate made some odd compromises in the rush to get their bill passed by Christmas Eve. And it looks less like the bill that was passed by the House earlier this year.

The problem?

In order to get one comprehensive healthcare bill on the President’s desk, the two Healthcare bills must be reconciled into one master bill.  And that, both critics and supporters say, could take a miracle.

Even the most Liberal wing of the House of Representatives, the House Progressive Caucus, says that the Senate healthcare bill “will have a difficult time, if not an impossible time, getting through the House,” according to ABC News.

At the center of the debate will be the Public Option, the Medicare Expansion, and a demand from a couple of different Caucuses to hold a “Conference Committee” (a meeting between the House and Senate) to iron out the bill's final details.

Whose version of the Healthcare bill will win out?

That is a custody battle even the toughest judge won't be able to predict.
